foot-thumping music. On the day of Vijay Dashami, the effigies of Ravana are

The festival also starts the preparation for
Diwali, the country’s biggest and widely celebrated festival of lights, which
is observed twenty days after the Vijayadashami or Dussehra. During Diwali
people wear their best clothes, light up their homes with diyas, create
